Research and Development Mandates£º
In order to keep paces with times and to deal with the new situation, ISEC-UNIDO/GNERI will overcome all kinds of difficulties and step into a new stage, at present, the primary mandates are:

  1. Research of high-power, low consumption, high-efficiency Inverter (including Grid-connected Inverter) and the Controller;
  2. Development of battery with long-life, high efficiency and maintenance-free;
  3. Mechanism research of low-cost and high-efficiency of the photoelectric effect;
  4. Analysis and research of wind-power and light-power and its connection to main grid;
  5. Optimization design and computation of solar heater collector flow ;
  6. Solar water heating systems thermokinetic research and design optimization and computer simulation
  7. Research on solar water heater manufacturing technology and process;
  8. Development and applications on solar water heater design CAD / CAM technology;
  9. Research and development on solar water heater with innovative heat pipe;
  10. Solar thermal utilization of high temperature technology research;
  11. The further development, application and commercialization of CAD system software of passive solar houses;
  12. Computer simulation research of thermal properties and the architectural design of studies on solar houses (including energy-saving room);
  13. Research on innovative type of insulation materials, sealing materials, wall materials, heat-absorbing material, electric material, waterproof material;
  14. Research on other solar functional materials, such as the light transparent material, light reflective material, adhesive materials, as well as selective coating.

 

The basic condition to realize the above mentioned mandates:
In order to have a further promotion of solar energy technology and application, laboratories and research centers will be established gradually. Currently the updated items:
1. Key Laboratory of Solar Application Technology: It includes Medium & Low Temperature Laboratory, Engineering Thermodynamics of Solar Building Laboratory, Thermodynamics Test Meters Laboratory, Electromagnetic Measurement Laboratory, Heat Pipe Laboratory, Materials Laboratory, Solar Engineering Technology Analysis and Evaluation Laboratory, Energy-saving Laboratory, Rural Energy Laboratory and Information Technology Consulting Center. The testing instruments of the Optical Parameters Laboratory and Radiation Laboratory need to be updated and renewed. All laboratories need at least 1500 m2.
2. Solar Heating Building Design and Research Center. The main task is to take the Passive Solar Building CAD System as basis to improve the design capability and promote the solar building, so as to realize the commercialization. Solar building is a kind of green building, kind to the environment, energy saving and can greatly promote the sustainable development of the economy. 260 m2 for designing, 150 m2 for drawing instruments and concerned information, 150 m2 for the Hall of technology communication and demonstration. Therefore, it needs at least 560 m2.
3. Solar PV Technology Research and Development Center. The main aim is researching and developing of PV devices and innovative materials and the processes. The research history shows that the generation, development and perfection of the new concept is the key step of the technology development, meanwhile, the discovery and application of the new material can greatly promote the development of the PV technology. On the basis of the research of single-battery making process, device making process and PV instruments making process, therefore, then we will devote ourself on the measurement of the PV battery and board, on the research, development and measurement of field PV technology. The Center will need at least 1000 m2.
4. Energy-saving Research and Development Center. The center mainly devotes on the measure, research and analysis of the kinds of the energy-saving heat-keeping materials and the process research and technology evaluation etc. The center will need at least 800 m2.
5. Solar Heat Collector Research and Development Center. It aims at the mechanism research, experiments comparison on low, medium and high temperature solar collectors which take the water or air as intermediate, the design of the product development, process and material research and performance testing, products evaluating etc. as well as high-temperature industrial heat use in solar energy, solar air-condition, solar thermal power etc. Furthermore, to take use of software CAD and CAX in the process of product development and gradually realize the throw-off drawing board and virtual design by using CAE technologies. To provide necessary service to the manufacturers who devoted in designing and producing the solar heaters. The center needs at least 1000m2.
6. Asia-Pacific Solar Energy Research and Training Center. The center is the unique one for solar energy research and training founded by UN and Chinese Government, the task is to hold the international and national solar energy training and technology exchanges. It needs at least 1100m2(not including the dormitory for foreign experts and the entertainment places).
7. Solar Energy Information Center. It aims to collecting the solar energy technology information and its research and exchanging. It needs at least 840m2.
8. New Energy Technology Test and Product Performance Test Center. The center will provide test for the new energy products, new material and quality evaluation. To provide service to the manufacturers, to provide test report of the product performance to the concerned quality supervision agencies, as well as to provide new product routine experiment. It needs at least 720m2.
