Today, we’ve gathered at here to witness the inauguration ceremony of the headquarter building of UNIDO international solar energy center for technology promotion and transfer and the project singing ceremony between Chinese government and UNIDO with excited and happy mood. At such a grand occasion, on behalf of the entire staffs of UNIDO international solar energy center for technology promotion and transfer/Gansu Natural Energy Research Institute, please allow to extend our sincerest welcome and appreciation to the governors at all levels, distinguished guests from oversea and China, to deliver our highest respect to each and every leaders, experts, scholars, colleagues and pioneers, who have been devoting to the establishment of ISEC-UNIDO and development of GNERI and all the way through their life and work, and to extend my heartfelt appreciation and best wishes to the people who have designed, constructed and supervised the construction of ISEC-UNIDO building. As a sole international solar energy center of UNIDO in the world, the project is singed between Chinese government and UNIDO in Vienna on Dec 1st, 2005. Under the care and strong support of UNIDO, Chinese Central government, Ministries of State and Gansu Government, the building is completed lasing for two years. The UNIDO international solar energy center consist of international conference center, administration, R&D, training and reception, constructed area accounts to At this moment, in front of this grand ,modern and international solar energy center, my heat con not keep peace any more, I can’t help expressing my feeling of 30 years industrious and persistent path of GNERI. GNERI as one of professional and most earliest institutes engaged in the R&D of solar and other renewable energies. More than 30 years pioneering path of GNERI, my colleagues and I have been insisting on the concept of “getting hold of the sunshine, the further development follows after; getting hold of the sunshine, the brighter future follows after” in the barren land of western China, and depicting the bright blue print of solar energy industry of China. That was because of generations of GNERI staffs painstaking care ,unremitting effort and pioneering initiative, GNERI have been developing from a small to a big institute, from a domestic to an international institute, GNERI have become a sole international solar energy center under UNIDO. Today, the inauguration of UNIDO international solar energy center have announced to the mankind that the center is the joint efforts of generations of UNIDO, Chinese Government and GNERI staffs with their perseverance, initiative and wisdom, which fullfilled Dr. Gorge Lof and Dr. Danis Hayes , the world famous scientists, expectations on GNERI 25 years ago: “GNERI will play an invaluable assistance to the dissemination and utilization of solar technologies in Gansu province, China and the world as a whole ” . Today, when we stand alongside the mother river--- the Yellow River with 5000 years of history, We, GNERI staffs will make the announcement to all the governors at all levels , friends from overseas and China , people from all walks of life who has been and always been attaching their attention, giving their generous support to GNERI, for GNERI’s development and foundation of the Center. Our announcement is, we , ISEC-UNIDO/GNERI will fully utilize the platform --International Solar Energy Center, taking the great opportunity of to develop international solar energy and other renewable energy resources, to inherit the GNERI staffs spirit that is “being united and cooperative, painstaking and striving ahead, grateful and happy in the work, and never giving up”, to enhance and upgrade scientific research capability and management level of ISEC-UNIDO/GNERI, to exert the comprehensive function of International solar energy center in a maximum extent . We can say in a positive word that ISEC-UNIDO will make further contribution to the dissemination, application and popularization of solar technologies among the developing countries as well as the developed countries, to enhance international cooperation and communication between developing countries, to expedite south-south and south-north cooperation, to reinforce information network on solar energy world widely, to upgrade development and utilization level of renewable energies among developing countries, and finally to contribute to the worldwide sustainable development, energy construction and ecological protection. Honorable leaders, Gentlemen, Comrades and friends: The past has been kept in history, and it will be kept in our heart forever! At this new start and milestone, Let’s sharing the achievements and happiness, being grateful and standing on the present, and let’s make an unremitting effort to build a homestead with friendly environment, balanced ecology, harmonious society, reasonable energy structure and sustainable economic development.
