On 15th July 2010, Mr. Ke Bun Khieng, Deputy Chief of Central Commission of Propaganda and Education and his delegation from Cambodian People''s Party visits UNIDO International Solar Energy Center for Technology Promotion and Transfer / Gansu Natural Energy Research Institute and its Solar Heating and Cooling Technology Experiment and Demonstration Base located in the outskirts of Lanzhou. The delegation is accompanied by Counsellor ZHANG Huan from International Department, Central Committee of CPC, Division Chief LIU Xiaolin and Division Chief WANG Wenbin from Gansu Provincial Foreign Affairs Office. Director-General of UNIDO International Solar Energy Center for Technology Promotion and Transfer / Gansu Natural Energy Research Institute, Professor Xi Wenhua takes a detailed introduction to Cambodian delegation. Afterwards, the delegation visits PV experimental building, solar villa, solar guest house, solar farm house and other kinds of solar energy demonstration buildings and a variety of solar heating, solar thermal application technology and solar photovoltaic power generation facilities. During the visit, the delegation expresses keen interest in mature, practical solar technology and highly praises the outstanding achievements which made during past more than 30 years in extremely difficult conditions in the field of solar and other renewable energy fields.

Visiting the solar PV system. At the end of the visiting, Mr. Ke Bun Khieng on behalf of the delegation thanks UNIDO International Solar Energy Center for Technology Promotion and Transfer / Gansu Natural Energy Research Institute for the warm reception and hopes that UNIDO International Solar Energy Center / Gansu Natural Energy Research Institute to help Cambodia and other developing countries to train more technicians and management talents on solar and other renewable energy technologies and also hopes to have more cooperation on development, popularization and application of solar and other renewable energy. At the same time, Mr. Ke Bun Khieng wrote down the following words, “It has been a quite discovery for the whole delegation to visit the solar power training center which can be served as a model to replicate elsewhere in developing countries like ours.”.
